The Avsar Wool yarn mill was established in January 1995 on a 2,200 m2 area in the Uşak Organized Industrial Zone as a partnership between Mustafa Gündüz, Hüseyin Cetin Gündüz and Nuriye Sehvar Bor. Their desire was to contribute to making the Uşak Carpets as part of our cultural heritage renowned as they once were and to making the province a city brand as well as living up in each knot tied into art history.

The Uşak Carpets, wich take an important place in art history due to their original designs and immense durability, owe their substantiality to virgin wool carpet yarn. With this in mind, Avsar Wool produces 100 % virgin wool yarn and supplies 100 % wool carpet manufacturers in Turkey and in various regions worldwide with yarn.  

Avsar Wool is working continuously from its day of establishment in order to make the Uşak Carpet a worldwide brand again. Until 2002, Avsar Wool collected the wools from the tanneries in the Uşak region, exported them to India, China and America and also exported virgin wool yarn, produced in-house, to China and America. After 2002, when the Turkish production market share in the carpet and rug sector decreased, the company bought hand-made carpet manufacturing from China's Shandong province, Iran, Pakistan, Lahore province and India and also bought carpets and rugs from various countries worldwide and exported them directly from these countries to America for a period of 5 years.  

Today, Avsar Wool supplies 90 % of the yarn requirements of hand-made carpet and rug manufacturers and exporters. The 100 % virgin wool carpet and rug yarn produced by Avsar Wool springs to life in form of hand-made carpets and rugs in various regions of Turkey; and these carpets and rugs are being exported to China, India and America.

The American Capa Import Company, which obtains its virgin wool carpet and rug yarn from Avsar Wool, is awarded the "UŞAK WOOL CARPET AWARD" at the "Atlanta Carpet Fair" in America for the last two years. Avsar Wool is proud to bring the Uşak Carpet into the world carpet art again.

With the priciple of continuous improvement and development and its understanding of customer satisfaction as a priority, Avsar Wool set up an in-house carpet cleaning and maintenance unit. This unit not just serves for the processing of the carpets and rugs to be exported, but also provides service to various companies in Turkey operating in the field of hand-made carpets. In this context, the hand-made carpets of these companies are delivered to the carpet cleaning and maintenance unit without any prior treatment. According to the customer's wish, the carpets repeatedly undergo processes of cleaning, maintenance, shearing and stretching and are then shipped, ready for sale. Today, Avsar Wool performs 50 m2 cleaning and maintenance of hand-made carpets per hour. Avsar Wool takes greatest care to perform these procedures on a high quality and security basis and works according to quality standards that are referred to worldwide.

With this ground-breaking innovation, Avsar Wool has gained appreciation among its clients and carries out a production of 25,000 m2 daily on a production area of 625,000 m2. The company continues to develop its activities with the intensive work of its R & D department.

Avsar Wool takes the contribution to the country’s economy as its mission. In this context, the company has exported its products to 10 countries and achieved an export total of about 3,000,000 $ until now, which constitutes an important foreign currency inflow for the country's economy. At the same time, Avsar Wool imports wool from New Zealand and Russia and its import total amounts to 500,000 $ so far. Within the scope of its activities, the company reaches an annual turnover of more than 1,500,000 $.

Today, Avsar Wool has completed its institutional structure and specified its process structures. The company takes care to keep time schedules and continues its activities in a successful and stable way in its 10,000 m2 plant. With the principle of continuous development, Avsar Wool renews itself every day and continues to rise in the sector.
